Payment - Payment is due at the time of service.  If you are using your insurance, you will be expected to pay the co-pay and/or any amount due according to the benefits provided by your insurance carrier.  This will take into account existing deductibles and other co-insurance. It is each patient's responsibility to inform our office of any changes in your existing insurance coverage prior to your actual appointment date.

Other fees - Dr. Bauman does charge for letters written at the patient’s request or at the request of some other agencies (with your written permission), but you will be informed of this prior to receiving the requested letter.  This includes letters for jury duty, certain disability forms, attorney’s letters, etc.

Dr. Bauman does also charge a small fee for refills on Class 2 medications such as Adderall or other stimulants.  These medications cannot have refills and must be written on a monthly (sometimes a 90-day) basis.  This fee covers the extra costs of providing these each time.  You will still need to be seen regularly in order to continue these types of medications.  Refills done during the office session are not charged.

Missed appointments - As you may be aware, there is a significant shortage of psychiatrists not only in our area but across the country.  Dr. Bauman schedules your time for you and you only.  We do NOT double-book.  Regular follow-up is an important part of your treatment. In addition, if you miss an appointment, someone else also misses the opportunity to be seen.

YOU MUST CANCEL 48 BUSINESS HOURS IN ADVANCE OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE MISSED APPOINTMENT.

Medication refills - We prefer that you contact your pharmacy if you believe you need a refill and have them contact us.  Please note that we may need up to 5 business days to refill your medication.
